Yes! You're talking about TABOOS! And more specifically, our 'universal moral TABOOS' against 'overt hateful bigotry' and the endorsement of violence.
The only way we can uphold this "lawful but awful" speech is by ostracizing taboo violators and those who sanitize their views out of polite society. That is how we marginalized and defeated the KKK. If we fail to restore these taboos today, the hate will normalize and spiral into more violence and anarchy.

Ultimately, the test pole for Western civilization is and has always been, Christianity. As our nations have increasingly abandoned it, the basic assumptions on which the West was built, the basic morality we have taken for granted, are being abandoned.
That does not mean that Christians have been flawless; there is abundant reason to criticize actions done in the name of that religion. But it had inculcated in Westerners some basic ideas of right and wrong that seem to have gone missing in our time.
As a teenager, I tired of hearing my father say “The Bill of Rights should be named the Bill of Responsibilities.” He went on to explain to me that unless everyone acted responsibly toward our fellow humans, then no one would enjoy the rights and freedoms supposedly guaranteed by the Constitution and its Amendments. There was, in fact, no guarantee without a societal covenant. My Dad was a very smart man.

Democracies have also a duty yo protect themselves. If the present laws are utilized to take advantage of vape definitions and commit incitement or even murder then it's high time to reform these laws.
